Superhero Peg People

I made some superhero peg people for my son's birthday and also a set for one of his friends.

Spiderman, Green Lantern, Captain America, Robin, Batman, Superman

Here's a shot of how I painted the back/capes if anyone wants to try and make them too.
And since Batman's head can't have the pointy ears, I just painted an upside down V so it would sorta look like the pointy ears.

  2. They are great, I want to do some. Did you draw the design on first or wing it and was there a base colour on each of them or did you paint sections as you went. Also one last question, what kind of paint did you use. Thanks, Sam xx

  4. Sam and Katie...I drew the designs on with a pencil really light, and that is what took the longest in the whole process. I didn paint a base coat, the "skin" is just the raw wood. And then I just painted the biggest areas first and then redrew the details with a pencil where needed. I just used standard acrylic paints and then a clear coat at the end. For the smaller details, i used a toothpick to get the small areas.

  6. I totally just made Batman, Robin, and Spider Man with my son. He LOVES them. So thank you! Tomorrow: the Green Lantern et al. Also, I am also going to go out and buy some more peg people so that I can do all 6 over again...but better (ie. without help from a three year old!).

  8. It's Christmas Eve 2015 and I'm on my last peg doll for my teenage son. Who really doesn't need a peg doll. LOL! Anyway, he does the Batman voice really well so figured he would appreciate it. Thank you for sharing these so I could whip one out at the very last minute!! They're so adorable!
